Milwaukee Area Local Settles $3.5 Million dollar Grievance

The Milwaukee Area Local recently settled a class action grievance for 3.5 million dollars regarding 204b and “no lunch” violations at the Downtown Milwaukee Plant and Oak Creek MWA.

The grievance was filed in July 2022 when management continued to utilize 204b supervisors in violation of the National Agreement and when management unilaterally discontinued their established past practice of giving “no lunches” to clerks and maintenance employees in violation of Article 5 of the National Agreement.

Payment to active employees

The payment to active maintenance and clerk employees should be on checks for PP17/24 (8/2/24) or PP18/24 (8/16/24) .

If you did  not receive payment for this grievance on either of these dates please contact the Milwaukee Area Local between 8a-4p, Mon -Fri, prior to August 31st, 2024.  Once again, the deadline for notifying the union for no payment is August 31st, 2024.

Payment to eligible retirees

The payment to eligible retirees (those who were on the rolls July 2022 or later) will be on hard copy payroll checks that will be sent to your home or to the general clerks office of your last place of employment.   If you don’t receive a check at your home address by 8/16/24, you  should inquire with your respective general clerks’ office to see if they are in receipt of you check. If those offices do not have your checks  please contact the Union by August 31st, 2024  and we will inquire about the location of your check.
